Today, let's take a tour of India's Pink City - Jaipur. The exciting city is known for it's royal traditional culture.

Jaipur is a major tourist destination in India. In the 2008 Conde Nast Traveller Reader Choice Survey, Jaipur was ranked 7th best place to visit in Asia.

1) Amer Fort

Amer Fort located on high hills, is the principal tourist attraction in Jaipur. It is also known for it's structure with Hindu and Muslim elements and offering elephant rides.


2) Hawa Mahal("Palace of Winds")

Hawa Mahal - The 50 feet palace built on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur. The high walls are built to screen street festivities for royal ladies.


3) Nahargarh Fort

Overlooking the city of Jaipur, Nahargarh fort stands on the edge of Aravalli Hills. The popular belief is that Nahar stands for Nahar Singh Bhomia, whose spirit haunted the place and obstructed construction of the fort.


4) Jantar Mantar, Jaipur

18th-century park & heritage site with fixed instruments for making astronomical observations.


5) Birla Mandir, Jaipur

The most beautiful temple attraction of Jaipur, when it is brightly lit in the night. The images of Lakshmi and Narayan attract the attention, being made out from one piece of marbel.


6) City Palace

Built by ruler and founder of Jaipur initially by Sawai Man Singh II between 1729 and 1732. The City Palace includes Chandra Mahal & Mubarak Mahal palaces and was the the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur.
